Hurricane Florence

2018

Hurricane Florence struck the southeastern United States in September 2018, causing widespread devastation. It resulted in 54 fatalities and inflicted approximately $24 billion in damages. Florence's heavy rainfall led to catastrophic flooding, particularly in North and South Carolina, where thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed. The hurricane's impact included significant infrastructure damage, displacement of residents, and long-term economic and environmental consequences.

We responded to the disaster caused by Hurricane Florence with food, shelter, basic human need supplies, helping hands, and so much more.

Hurricane Harvey

2017

Hurricane Harvey struck Texas and Louisiana in August 2017, causing unprecedented flooding and damage. It resulted in 107 fatalities and inflicted an estimated $125 billion in damages, making it one of the costliest natural disasters in U.S. history. Harvey's record-breaking rainfall led to extensive flooding, displacing over 30,000 people and damaging or destroying over 200,000 homes. The storm's impact included significant infrastructure damage, long-term economic disruption, and substantial environmental consequences.

STORM SAR responded by sending teams down to the impacted areas. We rescued survivors, human and animals, via boats through flooded streets and provided care, food, shelter, & more to those in need.

STORM SAR has also responded to Hurricanes Ida & Laura.
